SMART TORQUE ARMS & DIGITAL POSITIONING SYSTEM

Kilews West Position-Controlled Assembly

SMART TORQUE ARMS & DIGITAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS

Guide operators through the correct fastening sequence while reducing torque reaction and preventing missed or incorrect fasteners.

Kilews West smart positioning solutions combine ERGO Series torque reaction arms with digital encoders and the POSITX-3D control platform. The system tracks tool position, enables the tool only at approved fastening locations and provides clear visual guidance throughout the assembly process.

Position VerificationConfirm the tool is at the approved fastener location.
Sequence ControlGuide operators through programmed tightening steps.
Error ProofingReduce skipped fasteners and incorrect fastening order.
Torque Reaction SupportImprove comfort while controlling reaction force.

Digital Positioning System Information

Encoders mounted to the torque arm report the tool’s location to the positioning controller. The controller compares the measured position with the programmed fastener location and can prevent the tool from operating until it reaches the correct area.
Linear arms are suited to controlled vertical travel and compact bench layouts. Articulating arms provide a broader working envelope and flexible horizontal reach for assemblies with fasteners spread across a larger area.
The POSITX-3D platform can display a workpiece image and guide the operator through the programmed tightening sequence. This helps operators identify the next fastener and gives clear feedback during each assembly stage.
Confirm the maximum fastening torque, tool weight, reach, vertical travel, number of assembly positions, required XY or XYZ tracking and preferred arm movement before selecting a configuration.
Configuration note: Positioning arms, encoder kits, tool holders and the controller must be selected as a compatible system. Each product links directly to its matching Kilews West catalog page. Encoder kits use the compatible parent positioning-arm page because the catalog does not list separate encoder-kit product pages.
